Professionals who wanted a strong national umbrella 
for their efforts formed NOAPPP in 1979.

HTN is the only national membership organization that focuses solely on the issues of adolescent pregnancy, pregnancy prevention, and adolescent parenting. Members include health educators, nurses, physicians, psychologists, social workers, teachers, school and program administrators and policy-makers as well as state and local health departments, school districts, community programs and educational agencies and libraries.

HTN’s Membership

HTN’s membership now includes over 600 organizations and individuals working as researchers, teachers, social workers, program and school administrators, health clinicians, nurses, doctors, faith leaders, community organizers, professors, media professionals, community health workers, case managers, and policy-makers.  HTN’s database includes nearly 25,000 people in the field. 

Membership Categories:

Individual - Provides membership benefits for one individual;

bullet

Organizational - Provides membership benefits for up to three individuals from the same organization, administered through a contact person for that organization; and

bullet

Student - Provides membership benefits to one student that is currently enrolled full-time. (Documentation of full-time registration is required).

HTN’s core expertise is a demonstrated, long-standing ability to assess and meet the diverse needs of our growing membership, as they require specific resources and tools to improve outcomes for youth.  HTN’s current services and focus areas are listed below.

bullet HTN’s Annual Conference consistently brings together between 550-850 people in the field.  HTN’s conference has been the only national annual conference devoted to the issues of teenage pregnancy, parenting and prevention.

COMING SOON —

bullet Optional Benefit: HTN will be providing The Prevention Researcher to its members at a 15% subscription discount rate ($31/year). The Prevention Researcher is a quarterly journal providing evidence and results-based research articles focused on adolescents that are applicable for real-life situations.
 
bullet MTV Networks and HTN have collaborated to provide free MTV produced educational videos with HTN produced guidelines to our members.
