 | Searches are made on document titles and abstracts. The documents themselves are not searched. |
| Case is ignored and all searches are internally handled in upper case. |
| To search for documents containing a word, simply enter the word. All documents containing the word will be displayed. |
| If multiple words are entered, separated by spaces, all documents with any of these words will be displayed. An OR is automatically assumed between each word. |
| If you want to search for a specific phrase, enclose it in double quotes. Then, only documents containing the exact phrase will be displayed. |
| Boolean logic may be used and it is parsed left to right. The operators "AND" and "OR" may be used. If no operator appears between words, an "OR" is assumed. For example, to find all documents with the words "frequently" and "asked" and "questions", you would enter "frequently AND asked AND questions". |
| The symbol "&" may be used in place of "AND" in search expressions. Similarly, "|" may be used in place of "OR". |
| Nested expressions (in parentheses) are not supported. |
| Use singular rather than plural words and both will be found. |
| Search strings may be found as a portion of larger words. For example, a search for "relation" will succeed if a document contains either "relation" or "relationship". |
