Urgent Care Services Come in Very Handy in the Middle of the Night

Urgent care services are convenient and handy.

CITE: American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine

When things go wrong – you are deathly sick or have injured yourself– it usually happens in the middle of the night when the doctor’s office is closed. That’s when a person may require urgent care.

Urgent care is  outpatient treatment for chronic or acute injury or illness. You have tripped over the dog at 2 a.m. as you are taking him downstairs for his middle of the night potty call and have fallen down the stairs. The dog is okay but you’re not. It appears that something might be broken. This is when urgent care services come in very handy.

Those doctors and nurses who provide this type of service have a comprehensive knowledge of medicine and are on the “front lines” of medicine. They are  skilled in quickly accessing what is going on and caring for the patient.

Urgent care services are for those who can’t get in to see their primary care physician or perhaps are on vacation when a sickness or injury occurs.

Urgent care is far better than going to the emergency room in a hospital where the patient is likely to wait for hours and hours before being seen.

At times, a patient that seeks treatment at an urgent care facility must be transferred to to the ER or directly put into the hospital.  Surgery is not performed at an urgent care facility.

There are nearly 9,000 urgent care facilities in the United States and the numbers are increasing annually.

The advantage of urgent care centers is that they don’t close at 5 p.m. and walk-in patients are seen. An urgent care center is comparable to an emergency room; however, urgent care facilities free up ER’s to take care of the life-threatening conditions that show up rather than dealing with the patient who has a bad case of the flu and can’t stop vomiting.

More than 70 percent of the cases that present in the ER are generally not life-threatening and could be dealt with in an urgent care setting, according to a study done by the CDC, National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey Emergency Department summary.

However, if an individual thinks he has a life-threatening condition he is advised to go to the ER rather than an urgent care center.

Proper utilization and access to care is made possible by the existence of urgent care centers and the services offered.

MY TAKE:

Most people know the difference between a life and death sickness or injury and one that is awful but isn’t going to  kill them. However, there is always the possibility of experiencing a heart attack and mistaking it for indigestion or something else that isn’t fatal. If you are experiencing chest pains, go to the ER. If you have the flu, go to an urgent care center. Use your good sense and judgment.

Deciding on Matching Rings

One of the interesting things about rings is that they’re often something that the bride and groom want to look individualistic and personal yet at least twenty five percent of couples actually get titanium or tungsten rings that match and are of the same style. The interesting thing about trying to find rings that match one another is that they’re often designed in such a way that the basic style is the same but the different widths and sizes of the rings are what contribute to making each of the rings look unlike any other ring out there.

Sources for Leakage

Believe it or not, there are more than a few different sources of potential leakage in a home and it’s not just something that happens when a roof gets soggy after some heavy rains. Not only can roofs fail and require a New Jersey waterproofing company to come along and shore things up, but issues can also develop from something like a pipe that’s not working right and leaks into the basement or perhaps a drainage issue that happens due to some clogging in the home’s gutter areas where the heavy foliage that fell during the fall wasn’t cleaned out properly.

Including Photographs for Promotion

There are a lot of people who decide to send photographs during the holidays to friends, but it’s becoming increasingly common for companies to use a Minneapolis commercial photographer to take a large photograph of everyone who works at a company because then a card can be sent out during major holidays or significant anniversaries to customers and business partners. The great thing about today’s photographs as well is that they can easily be inserted into digital formats where an actual physical card isn’t even necessary and a person can simply send out a card digitally through the internet.

Basic Lemon Law Issues

The idea of buying a vehicle that turns out to be a lemon is a fairly depressing thing because nobody wants to get caught up in the idea that the vehicle that they spent so much time choosing was actually so faulty that it warranted assistance from a California lemon law attorney and a lawsuit. But to understand how the lemon law of a state might benefit a person who has a vehicle who isn’t otherwise knowledgeable about such things, the basic definition involves a vehicle that the manufacturer has not successfully be able to fix even after multiple tries.

Evolution of Tooth Extraction

A particularly interesting facet of tooth extraction is the development of different tools over the centuries to deal with the pulling of a tooth and the tool that a Springfield VA dentist would use today is completely different than what would have been used centuries ago. One of the first official instruments was an instrument that quite resembled a pelican’s beak and was used for quite a few centuries until a more advanced tool was created which was called a dental key in the 1700s. It wasn’t until the twentieth century that tooth extraction got anywhere near advanced.
